02 — How it works

Three steps.
And you're in.

Under a minute from download to first connection.

  1. 01

    Connect a subscription

Grab a link from your VPN provider or scan a QR code. The app handles the rest.

  2. 02

    Pick a country

From your own server list. Or ours — when it launches.

  3. 03

    Turn it on

One big button. Internet just works — no stalls, no captchas, no surprises.

03 — Why kvn

Six reasons
to stay.

Each small thing below is a reason people stay. You will feel them on day one.

  • iPhone, iPad, Mac — one network

Add a server on iPhone — it is already on Mac and iPad. Everything syncs through your iCloud, with no extra account on our side.

    Your iCloud, all devices
  • Banks never see the VPN

Open your banking or government app — VPN pauses automatically. Close it — back on. Payments go through, apps stop complaining.

    Per-app auto-pause
  • "Hey Siri, turn on VPN"

Voice, widget, Shortcuts, Focus Filters. Off at home, on in a café, pause on a timer. No hands needed.

Siri · Shortcuts · Focus Filters
  • One tap from anywhere

Home Screen widget on iPhone, Menu Bar button on Mac, complication on Apple Watch. See status and toggle — without opening the app.

Home Screen · Menu Bar · Watch
  • Open source. Forever.

The entire client is on GitHub under MIT. Read it, build it, fork it. Nothing can be hidden — even if we wanted to.

  • Barely touches the battery

Under 5% battery per hour. When the VPN is off, zero drain — no background services, no warm-up.

04 — Rules

Three rules.
Unchanging.

The model may evolve, prices may change. These three rules won't.

  • 01

    The client is always free.

Download it — use it. Forever. Every feature. No 'premium subscriptions', no 'pro versions', no 'unlock the full version' behind a paywall.

    • Every feature open from day one
    • Widget, Shortcuts, Siri — all included
    • Open source — fork freely
  • 02

    Any server. Any provider.

Already using another VPN? Connect your subscription in a second. Even when our own servers launch — they'll be your option, not a replacement.

    • Works with v2ray, Amnezia, WireGuard
    • Connect: link, QR, file, clipboard
    • Our hosting — if you ever want it
  • 03

Your data is not for sale.

Not now, not ever. We don't spy, we don't show ads, we don't sell stats. No Firebase, no Amplitude, no ad SDKs.

    • We can't see your traffic
    • Analytics only with your consent
    • Selling data — never
All three rules are codified in the Privacy Policy. If we ever break one, you can cross-check against the source code.

05 — Servers

Two options. No lock-in.

Available now

Your own server

Already using another VPN? Connect your subscription in a second — paste a link or scan a QR code. You pay your provider, not us.

How to connect →

The choice is always yours. No app feature depends on our hosting.

06 — Servers

One server. And it works.

Helsinki is hand-tuned and runs 24/7. More countries will land when they meet the same bar.

07 — Shortcuts

Fits with all of iOS.

Six ready-to-use actions for Shortcuts and Siri. Build your own scenarios in a minute — no code needed.

Home → off

Join your home Wi-Fi — VPN turns itself off. Walk into a café — it turns back on.

Timer → 15-min pause

Start a timer — VPN pauses for the set duration, then turns itself back on.

«Work» focus → your server

Switch to Apple's «Work» Focus — VPN moves to your work server by itself.

08 — Privacy

By default.

A concrete list of what we don't see — and the minimum we know.

What we can't see:
  • what sites you open
  • what you send
  • your passwords and keys
  • what syncs between your devices
What we know:
  • Your IP address — only at the moment of connection, never logged
  • Apple ID — only if you enable iCloud sync, you decide that
  • Device ID — only if you subscribe to our paid hosting

09 — FAQ

Common questions.

Do I need my own subscription?
Right now — yes. You connect your own subscription (any will work). Soon we'll add ours — as an option, not a requirement.
How do I connect a subscription?
Four ways: paste a link, scan a QR code, open a file, or copy to the clipboard. The app figures out the format itself.
Can you see what I open?
No. Encryption keys stay only on your devices and your server. We physically cannot read what you view or send.
What about banking apps and sites that block VPN?
They work. VPN turns off automatically when you open them, and turns back on when you close them.
How much does it slow things down?
Usually unnoticeable. Our Helsinki server: ~40 ms ping from Moscow, up to 1 Gbps. 4K streaming runs without hiccups.
Really open source?
Yes. All code on GitHub under MIT. Any developer can check what the app does — and what it doesn't.
Will my iPhone work?
Any iPhone from 2018 or later — XS, XR, and every model after. iOS 17 or newer needed.
